The Champagne Cocktail

Champagne is the traditional bubbly beverage for toasting, well, just about everything from weddings to winning the Indy 500. But that doesn’t mean you can’t spice things up a bit by making champagne the center piece of a cocktail, and there is no simpler, easier champagne cocktail than the champagne cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2 dashes Agnostura bitters
  • 1 oz. cognac
  • 6 oz. champagne
  • 1 Maraschino cherry
  • 1 Orange slice

Directions

Drop the sugar cube into the bottom of a champagne flute. Drip the Agnostura bitters on top of the sugar cube, and allow the sugar to absorb the bitters. Added cognac, then gently pour in the chilled champagne. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice.

Cheers!
